Latest News (updated July 28)

The final dive meet of the season ended on a positive note for Ilda, with a win against Orange Hunt. Final score was 40-32. The Clippers finish with a very respectable record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

Early in the meet, Ilda kept things close with Kate Summers getting 2nd in Freshman Girls, Alex French and Mark Murray getting 2nd and 3rd in Freshman Boys, and Ariel Sarratt and Sam Niezgoda taking 2nd and 3rd in Junior Girls. Then things got even better with Carl Viola, Matt Parker, and Ben Wells sweeping Junior Boys and Elena Mannion, Shira Steinberg, and Celine Perera sweeping Intermediate Girls. In Intermediate Boys, Ross Rubin diving up placed 2nd and Sam Cluff 3rd. Nicholas and Matthew Summers also had their best meets of the season, with Nicholas diving up once again. In the Senior girls, Heather Michalak, taking 2nd, was edged out by only .30 points to a stupendous diver who has competed internationally. Lauren Murray also had her best meet of the season. In Senior Boys, Nathan Michalak and Blake Chamlee placed 2nd and 3rd.

Of special note was our graduating Senior, Heather, having the meet of her life. Earlier this season, she broke Ilda's 13-year Senior Girls record with a score of 225.70. Last night with Orange Hunt's Senior Star pushing her to excel, Heather smashed her own record with a score of 243.80.

Thanks again to our dedicated volunteers: Mark R as Judge, Scott as Judge and Ref, Yvonne as Announcer, Kathy and Karla working tables, and our Concessions crew of Denise, Alicia, Therese, Sue, Karla, et all.

Up next for the Dive Team is dive divisionals, this Sunday (August 1) at Walden Glen. Each team may send 16 divers to Divisionals. This is the list of divers for Divisionals as of today. Please confirm immediately if your diver is available. If there are open spots, they can go to an alternate. The final list needs to be submitted to the Division Coordinator this Wednesday (July 28).
